A suspended gypsum board ceiling system is supported by an array of 1 1/2-inch main channels and furring hat channels with a gypsum board finish. Lateral seismic restraint is provided by 8-gauge wire hangers installed at a 45-degree angle alongside a minimum 16-gauge angle strut or channel with a maximum L/R ratio of 200. The wire hangers maintain a maximum distance of 2 inches from the vertical strut support.
