A butt-glazed window system is wet-set in a one-inch by one-inch by one-eighth-inch aluminum channel secured below continuous wood blocking and a metal stud box header. The head detail integrates with a scheduled wall assembly finished with five-eighths-inch gypsum board over metal stud framing, metal gypsum corner beads, and metal J trim. Continuous joint sealant is applied at the interface, and three-quarter-inch plywood sheathing is incorporated above the opening. Sound batt insulation fills the cavity within the metal stud framing extending to the structure above.
