A structural steel column frames into intersecting steel beams supporting a concrete slab over a metal deck. A buckling-restrained brace connects diagonally to a gusset plate welded to the column and beam web, with the gusset and attachment furnished by the manufacturer typically. Stiffener plates are installed near side and far side as required by the manufacturer. Bolted shear tabs connect the steel beams to the column flanges. Concrete over steel deck abuts the column assembly on both sides.
