An angle brace measuring three by three by one-quarter inches is positioned at every joist location and welded to the steel beam with a quarter-inch fillet weld. Steel bar joists span across the steel beam, which is sized per the roof framing plan. A six-inch wood nailer with the same width as the beam flange is installed between the bar joists using seven-eighths-inch diameter welded studs at twelve inches on center. Angle braces must be welded to the beam after the roof is installed, coordinate brace locations with sprinkler pipes, and the brace shall not be located further than six inches from the top chord panel point unless an auxiliary web is installed.
