A concrete curb and gutter adjoins a thickened-edge concrete walk and an asphalt or concrete pavement section. The curb features tooled one-half-inch radius edges and a three-eighths-inch lip over a gutter sloped to drain. One-inch diameter Schedule forty PVC weep holes are spaced at eight feet on center, sloping down from the back of the curb to a rock pit. The assembly bears on natural grade with an aggregate base and asphalt or concrete surfacing per civil drawings. A one-half-inch expansion joint separates the walk from the curb.
