A three-and-three-quarter-inch C-H steel stud forms the core of the shaft wall framing. One-inch gypsum shaftliner panels fit between the framing flanges and receive a layer of five-eighth-inch gypsum board on the exterior. The opposing side is finished with a one-inch layer of gypsum board. The complete wall assembly is designated under UL number U415 with a limiting height of sixteen feet one inch.
