A wide-flange beam sized per plan frames into an HSS column using a bolted shear tab and top and bottom continuity plates. The continuity plates match the thickness of the beam flange and the width of the column. The continuity plates are welded to the HSS column with complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom. A shear plate is welded to the column face and bolted to the beam web with three bolts. The number of bolts and the shear plate thickness are sized per the engineering schedule.
