Cold-formed metal stud headers or boxed headers frame hollow metal window and door head and jamb assemblies, utilizing double studs at the jamb condition. The framing is wrapped with four layers of five-eighths inch gypsum board on each side, enclosing a four-inch batt insulation cavity where specified. A hollow metal frame is secured with two number six by three-eighths inch sheet metal screws per jamb anchor, with a minimum of three anchors per jamb. The assembly accommodates either one-quarter inch tempered glazing or a door as per schedule.
