A 1-1/2-inch primed steel pipe handrail is set into a 2-inch diameter by 12-inch long steel pipe sleeve cast into the concrete curb, maintaining a height of 36 inches above the walking surface. Number 4 reinforcing bars at 24 inches long are placed at each side of the post. The adjacent pedestrian ramp slab features a 4-inch drop to the top of the curb, with slab thickness detailed per plans. All welds are specified to be ground smooth. General notes direct coordination with soils reports and structural drawings for sub-slab preparation and reinforcement requirements.
