A semi-recessed fire extinguisher cabinet is framed within a metal stud wall featuring five-eighths inch gypsum board on both sides of the wall. Two three-and-five-eighths-inch metal studs flank each side of the cabinet. For fire-rated wall installations, a one-hour fire-rated fire extinguisher cabinet is used with a five-eighths-inch thick fire barrier between the double wall cabinet construction and factory-supplied rated anchors installed per manufacturer's specifications.
