A structural steel embed plate measuring four inches wide by eight inches long by three-eighths of an inch thick with four half-inch diameter studs is cast into the concrete balcony slab to anchor the guardrail post. Cut stone cladding fits tightly around the post base over an exterior waterproofing layer. Liquid flashing is applied at the air barrier location to maintain continuity. The guardrail post stands three feet six inches tall.
