This stair railing assembly features a one-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter schedule forty steel pipe handrail supported by five-eighths-inch diameter steel bar brackets at each vertical post. One-and-one-quarter-inch nominal diameter steel pipe horizontal railings and vertical posts are spaced at a maximum of forty-eight inches on center unless otherwise noted. A three-eighths-inch steel plate is positioned between the steel channel stringers at the stair tread and riser transition. Clear space between rails is maintained under four inches with equal divisions. All stair railing connections and intersections are welded and ground smooth.
