This plan detail shows an aluminum composite panel rainscreen system mounted over a thermally broken attachment system and 3 inches of mineral wool board insulation. A fluid-applied vapor permeable air-water barrier coats the 5/8-inch exterior gypsum sheathing, which is fastened to cold-formed metal framing. The aluminum composite panels feature a 1/2-inch joint width with a 5 7/16-inch total assembly thickness from the face of the sheathing.
