A built-up stud column or structural steel column is anchored to a concrete slab on grade with a continuous bottom track. The steel column utilizes a one-half-inch steel base plate secured with four five-eighth-inch diameter by six-inch Titen HD concrete screws over a one-and-one-half-inch non-shrink grout layer. The metal stud option features a Simpson SSC4.25 clip attached with three-eighth-inch by four-and-one-half-inch Titen HD anchors to the slab and five number ten screws to the studs on each side. The built-up stud column consists of three vertical studs matching typical wall studs with two typical tracks fastened by eight number ten steel-to-steel screws at twelve inches on center.
