A continuous twenty-two gauge minimum three-inch deep leg deflection track anchors directly to the underside of the concrete floor or roof slab at twelve inches on center maximum. The wall studs and gypsum board remain unattached to the deflection track within the specified clearance zone. A continuous two-inch wide by twenty-two gauge metal strap fastens to the gypsum board at eight inches on center maximum. The gap between the slab edge and the top of the wall fills with mineral wool insulation. Spray-applied firestop material applies to each side with a minimum one-half inch overlap onto the gypsum board and concrete slab.
