A prefinished sheet metal head flashing with a hemmed drip edge is installed at the top of the window frame. A liquid-applied flashing prestrip and additional liquid-applied flashing extend from the weather-resistive barrier over the sheet metal flashing to conceal fasteners. The assembly incorporates GRC cladding supported by Cascadia clips and a 1.75-inch vertical metal Z-girt system fastened with two rows of sheet metal screws. A half-inch silicone sealant with backer rod ties into the continuous seal at the window perimeter, supplemented by a silicone sealant heel bead at the full perimeter of the interior glazed insulated glass unit. Insect screens and prefinished metal flashing cover the insulation above the window head, and continuous support is provided for the finish at strap locations.
