This expansion joint assembly at asphalt concrete or concrete paving incorporates a six-inch wide steel channel and a one-and-a-half-inch by one-and-a-half-inch angle anchored with Nelson anchor bolts spaced at twenty-four inches on center with six inches from ends. The concrete header is reinforced with continuous number four bars on each side and fifteen-inch long number four bars at twenty-four inches on center, alongside number four bars at twenty-four inches on center. The surrounding paving transitions to concrete paving detailed per civil drawings set over compacted subbase.
