A two-and-a-half-inch nailer with an SSB hanger provided by others attaches to the underside of a wood deck. A half-inch by one-foot seven-inch all-thread rod secured with two nuts and washers drops down to support either a six-inch or eight-inch main and ring assembly. The vertical drop distance is two feet, positioned alongside thirty-two or thirty-six-inch joists with thirty-two inches shown here. Accompanying load calculation tables specify water-filled pipe weights, fitting percentages, temporary loads, hanger spacing of fifteen feet, and total loads of six hundred forty-eight pounds for the six-inch assembly and nine hundred forty-two pounds for the eight-inch assembly.
