A suspended ceiling seismic brace wire anchorage connects to wood framing members. A two-inch nominal wood blocking is fastened at each end using two 16d nails. The brace wire attaches via a quarter-inch diameter closed screw eye installed in the direction of the wire pull with a one-and-a-half-inch minimum penetration. Alternatively, the wire loop is secured to the blocking using three one-and-a-half-inch by nine-gauge staples or three stronghold J-nails. Eighteen-gauge clips measuring one-and-a-half by one-and-a-half inches are attached to each side and each end of the blocking with four 8d nails per leg.
