This assembly features three-quarter-inch stone shelves notched into the wall construction on three sides, set within a stud wall framed with five-eighths-inch tile backer board. The wall finish consists of porcelain tile applied over thin-set mortar. A continuous eight-mil waterproof membrane extends to four feet above finished floor, with two-inch minimum lapped eight-mil membrane banding applied at all changes in plane. The shelves are spaced at one-foot four-inch intervals, with a one-inch projection detail at the shelf edge.
