This recessed door jamb assembly integrates a swing door frame into a plaster wall system. A SAM (self-adhered membrane) jamb strip wraps into the rough opening and is sealed to the door frame and back angle, lapping under the vapor barrier or gypsum board. A field membrane is tucked under the SAM jamb strip at the frame interface. The exterior plaster wall finish is applied over SAM tape, with a finish bead of sealant applied at the frame perimeter. A backer rod and sealant joint are provided at the door frame reveal to accommodate movement.
