Continuous gypsum board facing runs behind the intersecting wall framing to maintain fire separation between the fire-rated wall assembly and the non-rated wall assembly as scheduled. The framing of the intersecting wall abuts the continuous gypsum board surface behind the stud cavity. Gypsum board layers finish both sides of the metal stud framing for each partition type.
