A one-quarter-inch by five-inch by five-inch weld plate is secured to the column using three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. An optional five-eighths-inch diameter erection bolt is provided and may remain in place after welding. The plate assembly incorporates a one-quarter-inch fillet weld with field-weld and all-around weld indicators.
