Per California Building Code section 11B-404.2.6, doors in series and gates in series require specific front approach clearances. The pull side front approach requires a minimum sixty inches in depth with an eighteen inch minimum side clearance, plus an additional six inches added at the exterior side of an exterior door. The push side front approach requires a minimum forty-eight inches in depth beyond the door swing.
