The assembly bridges a five-inch seismic joint between metal stud framing with a continuous formed aluminum cover plate secured by flat head screws with PVC spacers at eighteen inches on center. A continuous extruded aluminum retainer frame supports the cover plate, anchored by spring steel turn bars spaced eighteen inches on center. Existing acoustical ceiling tiles flank the joint, finished to match the adjacent new ceiling. Wall seismic joint covers extend beyond the ceiling plane below.
