A pipe penetration pierces a roof assembly consisting of three-inch rigid insulation and three-quarter-inch plywood sheathing adhered with bonding adhesive beneath an EPDM membrane. Single-ply quickprime prepares the pipe surface for an EPDM twelve-inch flashing, which extends down with a six-inch EPDM flashing lapped over the roof membrane and secured with a continuous bead of lap sealant. An optional field-fabricated metal hood sits above the flashing, sealed at the top with a high-grade sealant. The pipe must be anchored for stability, and lap sealant is applied between the penetration and pre-molded pipe flashing prior to the installation of the clamping ring.
