A recessed cabinet or electrical panel is framed within stud partitions using double studs around the opening and finished with metal corner trim. Non-rated partitions feature five-inch minimum depth clearances with gypsum board facings. Rated partitions incorporate one-inch gypsum core boards, five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board, and twenty-gauge sheet metal angles at the sides with J-channels at the top and bottom of the opening.
