An acoustic partition is framed with non-structural metal studs and lined with gypsum board on both faces, enclosing an acoustic blanket insulation layer within the cavity. Electrical junction boxes penetrating the gypsum board are offset from one another by a minimum of twenty-four inches to maintain acoustic performance. When this minimum offset cannot be achieved, the junction boxes must be wrapped with an acoustical putty pad. Acoustical joint sealant is applied at the perimeter of the penetrations.
