A one-and-one-quarter-inch steel pipe post is set into a two-inch core-drilled hole within a concrete slab having a six-inch minimum thickness and a three-and-one-quarter-inch slab edge distance where applicable. The annular space inside the core-drilled hole is filled with continuous non-shrink grout. Continuous sealant is applied at the top interface between the pipe and the slab. An eighth-inch weep hole is provided at the exterior face. The steel pipe is painted, and galvanized at exterior locations.
