A prefinished aluminum entrance door jamb connects to a metal stud wall assembly. The wall construction features five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing over metal stud framing with all joints and penetrations sealed, covered by a fluid-applied air and vapor barrier. Two-and-a-half-inch rigid cavity insulation fills the wall cavity behind the masonry brick veneer, which extends back to the wall assembly. Self-adhered flashing, four inches wide, wraps the door opening. A three-quarter-inch dual-stage sealant joint with a backer rod seals the exterior junction between the framing and the prefinished aluminum curtain wall system with one-inch insulated glazing.
