A rubber reducer transition strip bridges the change in floor finish between carpet and a concrete slab at a scheduled door threshold. The transition strip finishes flush with the carpet on one side and laps onto the concrete subfloor, maintaining a one-quarter-inch clearance beneath the door leaf. The rubber reducer finish is selected to match the adjacent wall base finish.
