This window head detail features an exterior sunshade and glass fiber reinforced concrete cladding mounted to a backup wall via Cascadia clips and vertical metal Z-girts. A prefinished sheet metal head flashing with a hemmed drip edge and insect screen integrates with a liquid-applied flashing prestrip over the water-resistive barrier membrane. Two rows of sheet metal screws fasten into the vertical metal Z-girt, concealed by additional liquid-applied flashing extending from the water-resistive barrier. The glazed insulated glass unit secures with intermittent window attachment clips set in silicone sealant at the air barrier seal line, complemented by a half-inch silicone sealant joint over a backer rod and an interior heel bead. Prefinished metal flashing covers the insulation, and continuous support is maintained for the finish at strap locations.
