This assembly features a vertical control joint in a stone veneer facade, sealed with continuous colored sealant and a backer rod. The stone veneer is anchored to the backup wall using veneer ties, which are fastened through four inches of mineral wool board insulation. The backup wall consists of eight-inch cold-formed steel studs with five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing, protected by a fluid-applied air and moisture barrier with all joints sealed. The interior face is finished with gypsum board, which is painted where exposed. The location of the brick ties must be coordinated to align with the steel studs.
