A one-inch wood trim cap sits atop fire-treated wood blocking and a metal stud wall, with a half-round trim piece applied if the cap cannot be sloped. Gypsum wallboard extends three-eighths of an inch beyond the framing face to align with the carpet edge. Wall carpet is rolled over the top of the wallboard and stapled to the blocking prior to attaching the wall cap. Flat wall carpet covers the exterior faces of the gypsum board.
