A structural steel connection joins a special-force-resisting-system member to a column and girder using a 3/8-inch thick gusset plate and a 3/8-inch by 12-1/2-inch by 7-1/2-inch shear tab. The diagonal member connects via the gusset plate with 5/16-inch welds. A shear tab is welded near the column centerline with a minimum 6-inch clearance. The structural members are sized per plan and detailed with standard connection plates.
