A steel pipe with a maximum diameter of six inches penetrates a partition wall assembly. The annular space around the pipe ranges from zero inches minimum to two and one-quarter inches maximum. This space is firmly packed with a minimum two and one-half inch thick layer of mineral wool insulation forming material. A minimum one-inch thick layer of sealant is applied flush with the wall surface on both sides. The penetration complies with UL Listing W-L-1054.
