Cylindrical pipe penetrations pass through rated wall or floor assemblies with zero direct contact between the penetrating material and the assembly. Annular spaces are maintained at a maximum of one-half inch for pipes greater than one inch in diameter, and between one-quarter and one-half inch for pipes less than one inch in diameter. Fire caulk is applied to each side of the penetration per Section 07 84 00. Required 'T' or 'F' ratings must be provided for penetrations in rated assemblies.
