This assembly provides a vertical slip connection for cold-formed steel studs at a metal deck. A continuous steel plate is fastened to the metal deck, spanning two ribs of the deck profile. A typical slip track is secured to the underside of this continuous plate. The steel stud is then fastened to the slip track using screws on each side as required to allow for vertical deflection of the deck without transferring load to the partition wall.
