An interior one-hour fire-rated roof-to-demising-wall intersection details engineered wood I-joists supported per structural drawings with web stiffeners within two feet of the ends. Gypsum board continues upward into the joist bay on both sides of the demising partition. Structural blocking is installed between joists across parallel and perpendicular joist orientations. A continuous bead of acoustical and fire sealant is applied underneath the gypsum board finish at the wall junction.
