Cables pass through a conduit sleeve that penetrates a framed partition type specified per plan, leaving a one-eighth inch typical clearance so the conduit or pipe avoids direct contact with the wall assembly. The annular space inside the sleeve packs with caulking compound, closed cell polyurethane foam, or fire rated silicone foam. Acoustic or fire sealant finishes the joint around the sleeve at the partition faces. This detail is similar for single stud partitions.
