Cold-formed metal stud tracks and a structural steel column bear on a concrete slab on grade with distinct base connection options. The built-up metal stud column utilizes a continuous bottom track secured with Simpson SSC4.25 clips anchored by three-eighths-inch diameter by four-and-one-half-inch Titen HD concrete screws and five number ten screws per side. The steel column option utilizes a one-half-inch steel base plate secured with four five-eighths-inch diameter by six-inch Titen HD concrete anchors over one-and-one-half inches of non-shrink grout. Typical wall studs and continuous bottom tracks frame into the base conditions. Section A-A details a built-up stud column with three vertical studs matching typical wall studs, two typical tracks, and eight number ten structural self-drilling screws at twelve inches on center. Section B-B details the structural steel column profile with base plate and anchor bolt layout.
