The guardrail assembly mounts directly to the top of a concrete floor slab over metal decking with embedded anchors. A finish of linoleum covers the slab surface, while the edge features a rubber nosing. Below the slab edge, five-eighths-inch gypsum wallboard is installed over seven-eighths-inch furring channels. The guardrail post requires a minimum forty-two-inch height and refers to structural detail 6/S800.5 for post mounting specifics with welded anchors.
