This wall and ceiling intersection detail features wood framing with double two-by top plates and solid blocking beneath floor joists sized per structural drawings. Two-by wall studs are capped with a sill plate at the base, flanked on both sides by gypsum board finishes as specified in room schedules. A one-half-inch minimum clearance is maintained at the base, finished with a topset base or approved equal and sealed with caulking at each side. Two-by ceiling joists span across the top of the wall partition, supporting the ceiling gypsum board layers.
