A 1-1/2 inch diameter metal rail and post mounts to a scheduled wall assembly using a welded connection. The assembly incorporates a backing plate and a 3 inch diameter by 1/4 inch steel plate secured with a 1/2 inch diameter rod. All joints are welded and ground smooth to eliminate surface irregularities.
