A joint assembly is formed between the top of the partition and the concrete-filled metal deck above, utilizing mineral wool forming material installed flush to adjacent surfaces. A spray-applied fire sealant with a minimum one-half-inch overlap on adjacent surfaces is applied at the joint, omitted at non-rated assemblies. A scribe block is fitted to the beam and sealed at non-rated smoke assembly joints. A structural beam with spray-applied fireproofing is positioned beyond the joint as applicable.
