Cold-formed steel stud framing receives a flat strap applied horizontally across the studs and secured with three number 8 screws at each track blocking location. The track flange is cut and bent as shown to form a block with a matching track section installed at each end of the wall, wall openings, and at eight feet on center along the strap. A one and one-eighth inch by twenty-five gauge minimum taut flat strap is located on sides where drywall finish does not occur, positioned at four feet on center vertically and four inches below any slip track head detail. Each stud flange receives one number 8 screw at the intersections. Drywall finish requires attachment per architectural specifications.
