An expansion joint assembly bridges the gap between adjacent floor plates supported by wide-flange structural steel framing. The assembly features a centered seismic joint cover with side retainer extrusions anchored to the concrete-filled metal deck on one side and a comparable slab edge on the other. A flexible elastomeric bellows seal seats within the joint cavity below the surface profile. Structural steel beams run parallel to the joint alignment beneath each slab edge, maintaining independent support for each floor plate.
