The stair stringer terminates at a structural beam with grating, featuring a three-eighths-inch plate capping the stringer. The stair tread and guard bottom post are aligned with the nosing and offset by two inches. The stringer base connects to the structural beam below the grating level, with welds applied on two sides as typical. The top of the grating sits nine inches below the stringer cap plate reference.
