An HSS 8x tube support connects to intersecting top and bottom hollow structural sections with field welds. The top and bottom HSS members receive a one-half inch weld indicated with a field weld flag. Each side of the HSS tube is connected with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The main support tube size is specified per plan.
