A mill finish steel column and base plate bear upon a four-inch layer of non-shrink grout above the top of the foundation. The connection is secured by a total of four one-and-one-quarter-inch diameter F1554 Grade 36 anchor rods embedded one foot three inches into the concrete. Leveling nuts or shim plates are installed as required beneath the base plate for elevation adjustment. Three-by-three-by-three-eighths-inch thick plate washers are placed at the bottom of the anchor rods, and welded wire fabric 4x4-W4.0xW4.0 is positioned at mid depth below the base plate. Two total number three ties encircle the anchor rod group.
